Business Analyst (New York and Baltimore-DC Offices)

Business Analysts (BA) bridge the gap of understanding between the business needs and technology. A business analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems. The BA understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. For this reason, the successful Business Analyst needs to be business savvy and have a strong understanding of technology.

The BA works closely with the Project Manager and assist with the project planning. They are responsible for the requirements planning and with information gathering and analysis. The Business Analyst documents the business requirements that describe the actions the business must take in order to resolve issues and deliver work products through the project lifecycle.

Candidates must have experience in the following essential business analysis skills:

• Analyze and understand the business problems
• Identify and document requirements
• Communicate effectively (written and spoken)
• Facilitate discussions
• Negotiate and build consensus
• Model data
• Model Business processes, experience with modeling tool such as Oracle BPA, IBM Rational or Metastorm Provision a plus
• Plan and manage activities
• Facilitate and develop business strategy
• Understand, support, and manage organizational change
• ***IIBA or PMI certification a plus.

Line of Sight is looking to identify candidates who have relevant and recent experience and skills, and are interested in joining our team. We are interested in entry-level candidates with at least 2 years experience as well as more senior candidates with over 6 years of business analysis experience. We anticipate openings in both our Saratoga Springs, New York office to support clients in the Albany Capital Region and in our Ellicott City, Maryland office to support clients in the Baltimore-Washington Region.
